Why do I need a survey?

Energy Performance Certificates give your property an Energy Efficiency rating from A- G (A being the highest Energy Efficiency rating) and this certificate is valid for 10 years. Our professional energy assessors carry out a visual energy survey of your property which for domestic should take no longer than 45 minutes on average, if the energy survey is carried out on a commercial property then this can take longer dependant on the area size of the property.

EPC For You also do not charge any customers upfront for booking an EPC but only take payment after the energy survey has been carried out. Some companies will want payments before an energy assessor is booked to attend a survey but we want to show that we are not just a web site who simply charge for passing enquiries but instead actually employ professional and accredited experts who are regularly audited to provide an accurate Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).

Also for all property owners in April 2018, Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards Law (MEES) will come into place. This means all properties including domestic and commercial must carry out an energy efficiency rating test and be above a certain score. Failing to have an Energy Performance Certificate can restrict your opportunity to let or sell a property.
